Underpinning in Merseyside
Underpinning is the process whereby the structure’s load is transferred in situations where it is visibly displaying the signs of sinking and/or subsidence. The installation of a new support in the ground is done so the load can be transferred over.
If a void space is needed directly underneath a building or for the purpose of reinforcement, the process of underpinning can be done. The process may be used in those situations where a supporting wall is being taken out and the pillars replacing it require some extra strength.
When is Underpinning needed?
Several situations exist where underpinning may be needed. These include: foundations that aren’t strong enough to hold a property up, foundations that have moved position as a result of shifting slopes and/or landslips, foundations that affected by heave and/or subsidence, foundations which are vibration damaged, to fit in things like deep sewers, new basements or new adjoining buildings
We provide a variety of different underpinning services throughout Merseyside and are happy to carry out assessments of a property for signs of sinking and/or subsidence, and then give advice on the solutions available.
