Underpinning in Lancashire
In order to transfer the load of a structure that is suffering from subsidence and/or sinking, the construction process of underpinning is used. Individual or multiples supports are installed into the ground in order to aid the transfer of the load. If a void is needed below a building or if a building needs to be reinforced then underpinning is used. This process is sometimes used when something like a supporting wall is removed and the replacement pillars holding up the structure need some additional strength.
When is Underpinning needed?
There exist numerous situations where underpinning is used. These includes things like having: foundations which don’t have the strength to hold up the structure, foundations which have shifted due to unstable slopes or landslips, foundations which are being affected by heave or subsidence, foundations which are vibration damaged or to fit a deep sewer, a new basement or an adjoining structure
We offer loads of underpinning services all throughout Lancashire and are more than happy to come out and assess your property for signs of sinking or subsidence, and then provide you with advice on what solution is best.
