Underpinning in Cheshire
Underpinning is a method which sees the load of a structure that is showing the signs of subsidence/ sinking is transferred. The structure’s load is moved over onto a new support that has been installed into the ground. Underpinning can be used in order to create voids underneath existing buildings or to reinforce them. It is a method that may be used when taking out supporting walls and pillars being used need more strength to hold the steel and to take the heavy load above it.
When is Underpinning needed?
Underpinning is required for several reasons. Some of these are: soft foundations that do not possess the strength to hold up the property, foundations that have become displaced due to a landslip or sloping, securing foundations that are affected by subsidence or heave, damage from vibration and to accommodate new structures
We provide a variety of different underpinning services throughout Cheshire and are happy to carry out assessments of a property for signs of sinking and/or subsidence, and then give advice on the solutions available.
