Mini Piling in Mossley
Mini piling is a technique whereby a narrower diameter than other piling techniques is used. Because of this fact, the piles light in weight, relatively inexpensive, yet still strong enough to support the heaviest of loads. The techniques involves long and hollow steel shafts being either drilled or screwed into the ground and then filled up with concrete. This creates a rigid pile where the soil is supported by the metal shaft. Even where the soil is loose or weak, no further support is needed with this technique.
When is Mini Piling needed?
Where a construction site has limited headroom then mini piling is the perfect technique to use. In this instance, sectional auger mini piles would be used. The technique entails drilling down and then putting in a number of flight sections. These are either left in position or taken out once the concrete has been poured in – this depends on how stable the soil is.
Bottom Driven Piles
Bottom driven piling is a technique whereby an internal drop hammer is used to drive closed end metal casings deep into the ground for the purpose of creating stable foundations for any type of structure. Once they are in the correct position, the weight of the hammer is taken away and a reinforcement put place. The casing is then filled up with concrete.
