Mini Piling in Dukinfield

This is a technique that is used commonly within the construction industry to produce foundations that are suitable for a wide variety of structures for ground conditions that are not suitable. Mini piling works by screwing or driving large steel casings into the ground and then filling each of them up with concrete so that rigid piles are formed.

However, this is not something that can be done by just anyone. It requires the knowledge of an expert structural engineer who works out the number of piles required and what the layout of them needs to be. When doing this, a structural engineer will take into account several different factors, including the condition of the ground, how easy it is to access, and the type of structure being built.

When is Mini Piling needed?

In those instances where a structure has already been constructed with piled foundations, any further additions that are made to it also need to have the same types of foundations. Mini piling is something that is also when there are underground services like mains drains or water mains in the footprint of a proposed construction in order to prevent damage. Similarly, the technique is also used when there are things like tree roots mains in the footprint of a proposed construction for the same reasons. It can also be used in order prevent subsidence from happening, as well as to secure foundations.

Bottom Driven Piles

This is a very cost effective solution for building foundations and uses much less concrete than other traditional techniques, thus making it more environmentally friendly. There is no spoil produced and so it is the perfect solution for those areas with contaminated ground. They are also good to use in those areas where there are restrictions bases on poor ground conditions and where it is impractical to build regular deep foundations. The technique involved large metal tubes being driven into the Earth below the proposed construction to a depth of anywhere between 2m and 6m. Once they are in the ground, concrete is poured into them to create formed piles.

We provide a range of piling solutions in and around the Dukinfield area.
