Mini Piling in Chester

Mini Piling is a way of creating a foundation for any type of building in a ground condition no matter how unsuitable. Screwing or driving metal casings into the ground and then filling them up with concrete to form piles. The necessary amount, diameter and layout of the Piles is calculated by our Structural Engineer and is determined by numerous factors such as the nature of the load requiring support, the ground conditions, and access to the ground.

When is Mini Piling needed?

If a property is built upon piled foundations, additions require piling to make sure the new construction is built like for like. If there are  underground services in the footprint of a proposed build, then piling is recommended to avoid damage occurring.

If tree roots are identified as a potential risk that could affect traditional foundations, piling is a safe solution. Piling is an effective way to eliminate any risk of subsidence and secure the foundations.

Bottom Driven Piles

Driven piles are a building foundation that provide support for structures, transferring weight to different layers of soil and rock that have the required weight bearing capacities and have suitable settlements. These types of piles are used to support buildings, walls and/or bridges, and can be a cost effective solution. They are also used for embankments, retaining walls and for anchorage structures.

A foundation is reported as being piled when the depth is more than three times the breadth. A bottom driven pile is long and slender, made of a reformed material and has a predetermined shape and size that can be installed via impact hammering, vibrating or pushing into the ground. Where the ground is dense, pre drilling may be used to let the pile to reach its required depth.

We provide a range of piling solutions in and around the Chester area.
