Mini Piling in Southport

Mini piling is something that is used for underpinning and where there is restricted access. It is a technique that can also be used to create foundations for a range of different structures. Mini piling is used where there is difficult and/or restricted access or in those areas with particular environmental sensitivity. The technique involves the use of specialist drilling, impact driving and/or screwing machinery.

Mini piles are metal tubes that are anywhere from 100mm to 305mm in diameter. Alternatively, they can be bored cast in situ concrete from and range from 300mm to 600mm in diameter. The rigs used for mini piling can work in sites that are subject to the tightest of width and height restrictions.

When is Mini Piling needed?

There are many advantages to using mini piling. These include being able to be done in confined spaces due to the equipment used being smaller than that what is needed for the traditional methods of piling. It is a good methods to use in built up areas due to the fact that mini piling causes less noise and fewer vibrations.

Bottom Driven Piles

Driven piles are a type of building foundation that gives structures added support, allowing their weight to be transferred over to different levels of strata that have the right weight bearing abilities, as well as having suitable settlements. Bottom driven piles can support buildings, walls and bridges, and are a very cost effective solution for creating deep foundations. Additionally, they can be used for embankments, retaining walls and for anchorage structures also.

Foundations are only considered to be bottom driven piles when their depth is more than 3 times that of their breadth. They are long and slender, made of a reformed material, and have a predetermined shape and size that can be installed with impact hammering, vibrating and/or pushing. If the ground is too dense, then pre drilling is used to get them to wear they need to be.

We provide a range of piling solutions in and around the Southport area.
