Mini Piling in Burnley
Mini piling is a technique used for underpinning and for restricted access. Its purpose is to create foundations for differing structures. It is used at those locations where the access is restricted or where environmental sensitivity exists. Specialist drilling, impact driving and screwing machinery is used in order to achieve the desired results.
Mini piles are long steel casings that range from between 100mm and 305mm in diameter. Mini piling rigs are ideal for use on any sites where there are width and/or height restrictions in place.
When is Mini Piling needed?
Numerous different situations lend themselves to the advantageous of mini piling. For instance, where work needs to be done in confined spaces it is perfect as the equipment used is so small. It is also great for use in more urban up areas as it makes a lot less noise and vibrations so won’t disturb people.
Bottom Driven Piles
Driven piles are cost effective and are good for the environment in that they do not require as concrete as other alternative methods of creating foundations. The technique produces no spoil, so it is ideal for use in areas where the ground is contaminated.
Driven piles are used in those areas which are restricted by poor ground conditions, making normal deep foundations impractical.
The technique involves long steel casings being driven into the Earth (approx. 2m – 6m) with a machine called an internal drop hammer. Once they are in position, they are then filled with concrete in order to form the pile.
