Mini Piling in Blackburn

This process sees deep foundation elements constructed out of strong, small diameter casings and/or threaded bars. It provides structural support to structures, underpins foundations, enhances mass stability, and transfers loads.

The casing goes into the design depth with the help of a drilling technique. A threaded bar, is then placed in the casing and cement poured in. It is sometimes necessary that the casing goes the entire depth or it might finish above of the bond zone and the reinforcement bar goes the entire depth.

Capacity is dependent on the pile’s diameter, as well as the profile of the subsurface. Capacities of greater than 1000kN can be reached.

 When is Mini Piling needed?

For those locations with limited access, limited headroom, new build foundations, and that have impacted by subsidence, mini piling is the ideal solution. It is also useful to use when there are underground services within the footprint of the build or if there are things like tree roots as it minimises the chances of any damage occurring.

Bottom Driven Piles

The installation of bottom driven piles is a quick, efficient and suitable process and can be used for construction builds, regardless of the ground conditions. With spoil removal not being necessary, the process is one that is particularly good  for use on brownfield sites.

A thin steel case with a closed end is drove down in lengths to somewhere between 2m and 6m into the surface of the Earth by a piece of machinery called an internal drop hammer. Each of these steel cases is joined with a weld during the installation process. Each pile goes deep down to a predetermined length. Once reached, the steel case is then filled with concrete and bar or cage is put in it.
