Mini Piling in Knutsford

If the ground isn’t suitable for other types of foundation construction, then mini piling is used to provide this service. With mini piling, metal casings are screwed or can also be driven into the Earth, and then filled up with concrete in order to form load bearing piles. It is the job of a structural engineer to work out exactly what the amount, layout, and diameter of each of the piles needs to be. They take into consideration things like the ground that the piles are going into, the level of access there is to the site, and the type of structure that they are supporting.

When is Mini Piling needed?

Those properties that have foundations which are already made with mini piling should have new constructions or extensions done with the exact same type of foundations. If there happen to be underground services within the footprint of a construction, mini piling is used as it is the best method to avoid damage. Equally, if there are tree then mini piling is a suitable solution. This method of creating foundations is the best way to eliminate the risk of subsidence and also works to secure the foundations of a structure.

Bottom Driven Piles

Putting in bottom driven piles is a quick, efficient and suitable solution for pretty much any type of ground condition. Because spoil removal is not needed, it makes the solution a good one to use at brownfield sites.

A steel casing with a closed end is put in lengths of between 2m to 6m in the ground using something called an internal drop hammer. Each casing is joined by a weld as the process continues. The pile goes all the way down to a pre-set length depth. Once at this depth, the steel casing is filled with concrete and an individual bar or cage is inserted into it.

We provide a range of piling solutions in and around the Knutsford area.
