Mini Piling in Morecambe
If the ground where a structure is going to be built isn’t suitable for creating foundations the traditional way, mini piling is used as an alternative. With mini piling, big casings are driven or screwed down into the ground and then have filled concrete poured into them to create the piles. The amount, layout and width of the piles are determined by the ground, the access to it, and the structure being built by a structural engineer.
When is Mini Piling needed?
Those properties that are built on foundations that are piled, any additions to them that are made need mini piling so that the new construction is built on a like for like basis. Mini piling is recommended in those situations where there are underground services in the footprint of a construction.
Again, if there are tree roots in the footprint of a construction which may impact of the its foundations, mini piling is the best option to use. It’s a great way to minimise subsidence and to secure the foundations of the construction.
Bottom Driven Piles
Bottom driven piles are the perfect foundations to give support to structures. They allow for the weight to be transferred onto varying soil and rock layers. Driven piles are used for the purpose of supporting buildings, walls, as well as bridges. They are also sometimes used for things like embankments, retaining walls and for anchorage structures. Because of this, they represent good value for money.
Bottom driven piles are 3 times longer than they are wide. The shape of the pile is long and slender, and is made out of a reformed material with a shape and size that is predetermined. They can be installed through impact hammering, vibrating and/or pushing. If the surface of ground is too dense, then the process of pre drilling may be needed in order to allow the pile to reach the depth it needs to be.
