Mini Piling in Northwich
Mini piling is a process used in the construction industry for the purpose of making foundations for differing types of structures in those instances where the ground is simply not suitable. The process sees either the screwing or the driving of steel casings deep into the Earth and then be filled with concrete for the purpose of forming piles.
Working out how many piles are needed and what their layout should be is something that is done by a structural engineer. They take into account several factors when doing this, like the ground’s condition, the level of access to the ground, and the type of building the piles are being put in to support.
When is Mini Piling needed?
If a structure has foundations that are piled already, then further additions made to it need to be done so using the same foundations. Mini piling is needed also where underground services exists within the footprint of a proposed structure so that damage to them can be avoided.
Mini piling’s an ideal solution when tree roots exist in the ground of a proposed structure. It is the best way to stop subsidence from happening and to secure the foundations.
Bottom Driven Piles
This is something that is used to make string foundations to provide adequate support to all types of structures, moving their load to different layers of strata which have adequate load bearing capabilities. Bottom driven piles are also used to provide buildings, bridges or walls with added support, and are often the cheapest deep foundation solution. They are also sometimes used in embankments, retaining walls, and as anchorage structures.
Bottom drive piles are more than three times deep than they are wide. They are essentially a slender and long column made from a preformed material that have predetermined sizes and shapes. Bottom driven piles are installed by the methods of impact hammering, vibrating or pushing. If the ground is too thick to do this, it is pre drilling to allow for the pile to reach the required depth.
